What happens to financial communication when investors and clients no longer simply look at a yield curve on a presentation slide, but can actually stand on it, walk through it and explore it together with the person presenting the information?
This is the question at the heart of the next Immersive Finance Forum, taking place on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, at 18:30 CET. The virtual event will be held in German in Arthur on Meta Quest and will feature Christian Salow from altii GmbH.
The Immersive Finance Forum is a recurring event series dedicated to the emerging role of virtual reality, 3D visualization and immersive environments in finance. Taking place every second Tuesday of the month, the forum brings together people interested in how immersive technologies can change the way financial information is analyzed, communicated and experienced.
From Charts to Walkable Financial Worlds
Financial professionals have become accustomed to working with tables, charts, dashboards and increasingly sophisticated analytical systems. These tools are highly effective at presenting large quantities of information, but they remain essentially two-dimensional.
Immersive 3D visualization introduces another dimension: space.
Instead of displaying financial information on a screen, data can become a landscape that participants can enter and explore. Relationships that are difficult to communicate through conventional charts can become spatially visible. Participants can move through the information, change their perspective and discuss what they are seeing while sharing the same virtual environment.
The upcoming session demonstrates this approach using financial market data.
Walking Through the Interest Rate Landscape
One of the examples is the so-called “Zinsgebirge”, or interest-rate mountain range. Yields on European government bonds are transformed into a three-dimensional landscape of valleys and peaks.
Periods of negative interest rates appear as distinctive formations. The inflation shock of 2022 becomes another visible structure in the landscape. Instead of describing these developments solely through numbers or lines on a chart, participants can literally walk through the history of the market.
The same concept can be applied to other areas of financial analysis. The “Volagebirge” visualizes volatility, while the “Creditgebirge” represents credit spreads. An “Erwartungslandschaft” provides a spatial representation of market expectations.
These models demonstrate a broader idea: financial data does not necessarily have to remain confined to conventional charts and dashboards. It can become an environment in which relationships, developments and historical events can be explored together.
Making Complex Information Easier to Understand
The objective is not simply to make financial presentations more spectacular. The real opportunity lies in making complex information easier to understand and discuss.
A traditional chart requires the viewer to interpret axes, scales, lines and numerical relationships. A spatial model can provide additional visual cues and context. Peaks, valleys, distances and trajectories can become metaphors for financial developments while still being based on real data.
This can be particularly valuable when financial professionals communicate with clients, investors or colleagues who need to understand not only individual figures but also the relationships between different market developments.
Immersive environments can therefore become a new interface between financial data and human understanding.
Telling the Story of a Fund Through Architecture
The second part of the event takes the concept one step further. Instead of visualizing market data as a landscape, it uses architecture to tell the history of a fund.
The example is the “Fonds-Helix”, a walkable spiral building designed as a three-dimensional timeline.
The milestones of the fund are positioned along the inside of the structure, while the market events that influenced its development appear on the outside. Walking upward through the helix means moving chronologically through the history of the fund.
The result is more than a timeline. It creates a spatial narrative in which the development of a financial product can be experienced in relation to the market environment in which it operated.
A New Approach to Investor and Client Communication
For asset managers and financial companies, such applications could open up new possibilities for communicating the identity and development of investment products.
A fund’s history can include investment decisions, performance milestones, changes in strategy and significant market events. In a conventional presentation, these elements are typically distributed across a sequence of slides.
A spatial environment can bring them together.
For a new fund, a Fonds-Helix can reportedly be populated with real data within just a few days. This makes the concept potentially relevant not only as a one-off presentation but also as a reusable communication environment that can evolve with the fund.
Finance in Arthur on Meta Quest
The event will take place in Arthur, an immersive platform designed for virtual collaboration and meetings. Running on Meta Quest, Arthur allows participants to meet in shared virtual rooms and interact with content in three dimensions.
This is an important part of the concept. The participants are not simply watching a demonstration of immersive finance. They experience the models themselves and can explore the virtual environment together.
The combination of shared presence, spatial data visualization and live discussion creates a fundamentally different setting for financial communication.
Why the Immersive Finance Forum Matters
The Immersive Finance Forum reflects a broader development in financial technology. Much of the innovation of recent decades has focused on collecting more data, processing it faster and developing increasingly sophisticated analytical models.
The next challenge is how people interact with the resulting information.
As artificial intelligence, quantitative analysis and data infrastructures continue to increase the amount of information available to financial professionals, the ability to understand relationships and communicate insights becomes increasingly important.
Immersive visualization offers one possible answer: instead of adding another dashboard or another presentation slide, it changes the interface through which people interact with financial information.
Join the Next Immersive Finance Forum
The next Immersive Finance Forum takes place on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, at 18:30 CET. The session will be held in German and is open to anyone interested in the application of immersive technologies to finance.
Participants will be able to experience the financial landscapes and the Fonds-Helix directly in Arthur on Meta Quest and explore how 3D environments can transform financial data into something that can be seen, discussed and experienced together.
The event is supported by altii GmbH, which also operates the Immersive Finance Forum website.
Registration is available through the Immersive Finance Forum. After registering, participants receive a confirmation link from altii. The registration is completed by clicking the confirmation link.
